Self Portrait with Tea Complete!

And here is the completed piece! Self Portrait with Tea is 28"x22", colored pencil on sanded paper. The image shown here is a professional scan, so the color is much truer than my previous snapshots. (I did resize the image though - the original TIF file was 255 MB!) I also posted to this to my online gallery.

Holly, Congrats on this piece. I think you've pulled together so many elements successfully; the setting, the pose, the engagement with the viewer, repetitive elements. They all help to create a dynamite portrait! I hope I get to see it some time in real life.

Holly, Wow! This really turned out exceptionally well. You did a fabulous job. It is quite beautiful and you executed all the different textures extremely well. This is a beautiful piece and you should be proud.

Holly, your painting turned out even more beautiful than I had imagined it would -and I had this painting pegged as a beauty from the get go! The photography is exquisite as well. Congratulations on completing this project.

The composition of this piece and the arrangement are fascinating. Draws you in. Makes you wonder what the subject is thinking. Technique is spot on. Altogether, I think you have a very successful work of art.

Another stunning piece Holly! I can't get over the size. I am trying to visualize it - and now I need to go refill my tea cup. :-)

This is just wonderful, Holly. Beautiful. This is my favorite of your self portraits, and, if I'm not wrong, the only one indoors. I don't know why I like it better than the others but I'm thinking it might be the softer light inside, rather than the harsh lighting outdoors. No, there was one near a window I remember. But I love the composition and how you caught the light in the eye on the left, actually your right eye, or maybe not if it's in a picture. It must actually be your left eye. And now I'm confused. And the hands! Your strong point. I'm a fan, you know.
